A Senator of the Labour Party, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha has asked the senate to suspend the screening exercise of ministerial nominee, Festus Kenyamo SAN.
Things didn’t seem good for Former Minister of State for Labour and current Ministerial nominee, Festus Kenyamo as his screening exercise today, was cut.
Festus who appeared before the floor of the senate today after a last minute nomination by the President was slated to be screened today, 6th of August before possible confirmation by the senate.
However, in a twist of events, a lawmaker Sen. Darlington obstructed the process by moving a motion for the Suspension of the screening exercise of the former minister.
Nwokocha who drew the attention of the house and Festus Kenyamo to a time he, (Festus) insulted members of the National Assembly after appearing before them on request in 2020.
The National Assembly members had been involved in a messy clash with the former minister over issues bothering on the distribution of the 774,000 jobs under the former President’s grassroots employment scheme at the time.
This motion was however seconded by APGA Senator, Ehinanya Abaribe.
The Senator also went into the closed door meeting after a rowdy session over the matter.
