Residents in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State have invaded a warehouse believed to have been a storage point for some palliatives meant for affected victims of the 2022 flood surge in the state. the warehouse is located along Isaac Boro Expressway.
The invasion of the warehouse came as an aftermath of the rage from the people over the hardship incurred by the removal of fuel subsidy all over the country.
Recall the president had released some palliatives to states, including a cash transfer of 5 billion naira per state and 5 trucks rice.

As seen in some of the pictures, some of the items were branded with pictures of the Governor, Sen. Douye Diri and Deputy, with a caption saying, “Douye Diri support”
This was revealed via the official twitter handle of a news/blog site in the state.

This publication understands that some of the food items in the warehouse had expired, but that did not stop the residents from looting them.
The Bayelsa state government has yet to comment on the incident.
