The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has debunked rumors of his speculated suspension.
After a rumor of his suspension from the party, he posted pictures from a visit paid to him by executive members of the party including the party chairman.
He also appreciated the excos of the party for their continued support.
This was disclosed via his official X account, when he received state chairmen and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at his Abuja residence on Tuesday.
He wrote: “Earlier today, I received all state party chairmen of our party, the NNPP, alongside other top officials of the party, on a homage at my residence in Abuja. I’m thankful for the visit. And I commend them for their continued efforts in upholding the party’s principles.”
Recall that one of the foundational members of the party, Boniface Aniebonam and the National Publicity Secretary, Agbo Major, suspended Kwankwaso at a Special General Assembly held in Lagos State on Tuesday.
The executives had accused Kwakwaso of anti party activities, hence his suspension.
However, the NNPP said the suspension of Kwankwaso is “null and void”, expelling several party chieftains, including Dr Boniface Aniebonam and Agbo Major, who spearheaded the suspension.
