Vice President Kashim Shettima has ordered that no paid adverts be made on his behalf to celebrate his birthday come 2nd of September.
Ahead of the birthday, particularly, the vice president has informed well wishers and friends to resist the urge to publish thier goodwill messages on the pages of newspapers or billboards.
Shettima gave this directive via his official X handle.
According to him, this ensures optimum commitment and management of the nation’s resources for responsive governance.
I would like to take this opportunity to humbly request that you consider celebrating this occasion in a different way.

“In the spirit of our nation’s commitment to responsible resource management and responsive governance, I kindly ask you to refrain from placing birthday wishes on newspaper pages or utilizing paid channels to convey your greetings,” he said.
He urged well wishers who were intending to publish good will messages through paid ads to rather give those funds to charity on his behalf.
“Instead of spending resources on such messages, I encourage you to contribute to the betterment of our society by donating to charity organizations in need, or your preference, in our collective pursuit of a humane and functional world,” the VP added.
However, he expressed gratitude for the wishes he had received in the past years, adding, “Your thoughtfulness has touched my heart and has been a source of immense joy.”
