The protests of Mohbad’s bereaved followers led to the widespread decision to boycott the singer, his music, and his record label. They haven’t been shy about criticising Marley in the comments area of his posts. Since then, they have spoken out for the singer’s justice both online and in person at nonviolent protests.
But Marley defended himself in a press release from his label, emphasising that he never hurt Mohbad and treated him like a brother. He also demanded justice for his former signee before switching his platform display photo to Mohbads. Unfortunately for him, many people were not convinced by his explanation and demanded that both he and his counterpart Larry be arrested and questioned.
Following Mohbad’s abrupt demise, the Nigerian police force formally opened an investigation, and the chief coroner was instructed to perform an autopsy to ascertain the cause.
