Ilebaye Breaks Silence Amid Criticism From Netizens Over Her Tweet

This comes after Ilebaye took to her X account to share her account information for fan donations.

She had issued a warning about a popular fraud, claiming that certain unscrupulous forces were attempting to steal money from her fans while using her identity.

To avoid this, Ilebaye revealed her bank account number on her official Twitter account, instructing all of her admirers who want to donate to send money there instead.

In response, netizens appear to have misread her remark, implying that she was attempting to collect additional money from admirers despite having secured N120M.

In response to the misconceptions, Ilebaye stated in a new tweet that her prior message was solely to stop fraudulent acts by some individuals, and that she never sought cash.

She wrote: “This tweet was solely to avoid people who WANT to gift falling into the hands of scammers.

We didn’t solicit for funds, we only highlighted the account we have access to.

Too many fake account numbers are circulating and we will not be held accountable for any misappropriation.”
