“I have done nothing to warrant an impeachment” – Rivers State Governor

Date:

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has decried the plot to impeach him, adding that he’s done nothing to deserve the impeachment.

In his words:

Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment,” the governor said while addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex.

The governor, while calling for calm has reiterated his commitment to serve the people of Rivers State.

According to him:

“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press,” he said.

Recall Cyberreporters had reported the sack of leader of the house, Edison Ehie by the house led by their Speaker, Martin Amaewhule.

Also the speaker had served an impeachment notice on Fubara before they fled for safety as tear gas was fired outside the Complex.

The Governor said he’s done absolutely nothing to warrant an impeach plot in the state.

This may not be unconnected to a brewing political rift between former Governor of the State, Nyesom Wike and Fubara.
