The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Usman Ododo as winner of the Kogi State Governoship elections.
The returning officer of the electoral umpire, Johnson Urama, declared Ododo winner after he pulled 446,237 votes against his closest opponent, candidate of the social Democratic Party who pulled a total of 259,052 votes.
Dino Melaye, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party comes third place after pulling 46,362 votes.
However, while Dino had called for a cancellation of the entire election amidst electoral irregularities, and INEC postponing elections in nine wards, they have gone on to declare Ododo winner of the pools.
Ododo is billed to succeed incumbent Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello who also is his political “godfather”
